Katherine Doe Morse

Katherine Doe Morse is a mezzo soprano, pianist, conductor, and teaching artist. Favorite opera roles that she has performed include Cherubino, Dame Carruthers, Mercedes, Dritte Dame and Knabe, Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), and the Secretary (The Consul).

Katy conducts, sings, and serves on the Membership and audition committee for the C4 Choral Conductor/Composer Collective, which specializes in experimental choral music and new works. She is on the rosters of the New York Philharmonic Chorus, Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Bard Festival Chorale, and Choral Chameleon. She is a cantor for St. Matthews & Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Hastings-on-Hudson and Ardsley NY and frequently substitute sings in parishes and synagogues across NYC. She will appear in the opera chorus for Strauss’ Die ägyptische Helena at Bard Summerscape. In addition to classical singing, Katy is an educational consultant for Playground Opera, operated by Opera on Tap. She regularly works as a teaching artist for the Metropolitan Opera, P.S. 56x Norwood Heights, Little Orchestra Society, and New York City Children's Theater. She is a former teaching artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild. She teaches private music lessons in Westchester County and online, and is a piano technician hobbyist. Alongside her husband Mike, Katy enjoys studying ballroom dance, looking after their son Felix and cat Augustine, and exploring the best food that New York City has to offer.
