Our Purpose
Tenet Vocal Artists is an ensemble dedicated to bringing timeless, inspirational music composed before c. 1800 to curious people who love music, art, and history and seek an escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City. We are a vital ensemble in the cultural landscape and our creative team invests great time and care in crafting meaningful concert experiences.
In 2025-26, Tenet celebrates its 17th anniversary season under artistic director Jolle Greenleaf. Tenet has won acclaim for innovative programming, virtuosic singing and command of repertoire that spans the Middle Ages to the present day.
Tenet Vocal Artists performs regularly at venues across New York City and the tri-state area including Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Caramoor, Columbia and Yale Universities. Further afield, Tenet has performed at numerous festivals including the Casals de Puerto Rico, Berkshire Bach, Cambridge Early Music (UK), Connecticut Early Music, Costa Rica International Music, Kultursommer Nordhessen (GER), and Montreal Baroque. Tenet has performed on tour in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Scandinavia.
