We kick off TENET’s 2018/19 series with a concert of sacred music by Giovanni Rovetta, maestro di capella at St Mark’s in Venice between Monteverdi and Cavalli. Although he is often portrayed as being in the shadow of Monteverdi, Rovetta excelled at crafting beautiful melodies within the context of intimate chamber music. We honor the 350th anniversary of his death with a concert featuring vespers selections that would have been performed at St. Mark’s during his tenure.
