EDWIN HUIZINGA

EDWIN HUIZINGA

Canadian-born violinist Edwin Huizinga is quickly establishing a reputation as one of North America’s most versatile violinists. This season, his New York City based baroque band Acronym will be touring their fourth album, featuring previously unrecorded Valentini Sonatas. He will also be recording Beethoven’s ninth symphony with internationally acclaimed baroque ensemble Tafelmusik in Toronto's Koerner Hall. Edwin will be playing with New York's Classical superstar chamber orchestra, The Knights, Apollo's Fire, performing with Brandywine Baroque, and going to the Royal palace of Versailles with Opera Atelier to perform Lully’s Armide. Edwin will also be recording his first solo album this season, as well as an album with his duo Liquid Gold, a Celtic and Classical fusion record. This coming summer marks a decade of his performing as a member of the Carmel Bach Festival. Edwin is also Artistic Director of the Big Sur Land Trust's music camp for kids, and a founding member of Classical Revolution.
